Peterson SFB is located on the eastern edge of Colorado Springs and is directly adjacent to the Colorado Springs Airport. The base can be accessed via Powers Boulevard and Airport Road. Public transportation is limited, but taxi and rideshare options are available from the airport and city center.

Mission

The base supports critical missions in space and missile warning, homeland defense and joint command operations. It houses major commands including U.S. Space Command, NORAD and Space Operations Command, and ensures global security and space superiority.

Peterson SFB is home to about 10,000 military personnel and civilian employees. When including family members, contractors and partner agencies, the total base community exceeds 20,000 people.

Commissary

The Peterson SFB Commissary provides military families with discounted groceries, fresh produce, meats, dairy, frozen items and household goods. It is managed by the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) and open daily except Mondays.
