Eielson Air Force Base in North Pole, AK

Eielson Air Force Base was established in 1943 and it is located southeast of Fairbanks, Alaska. It covers about 63.0 square miles (163.2 sq km) and is home to the 354th Fighter Wing, supporting air combat and Arctic readiness operations. The base sits at coordinates 64.6761° N, 147.1016° W. It is named after Carl Ben Eielson, a pioneering Arctic aviator.
